This year so far...

Go directly to jail…thank goodness they didn’t!

Proact IT UK take part in the Master Cutler's charity Monopoly Challenge

Thursday 14th July saw Team Proact taking part in DLA Piper's Monopoly Challenge as part of the Master Cutler's charity event in aid of Rotherham Hospice and St Luke's.

Our fearless five headed off with their innovative "prop" to take part in the frantic fun.

With their first destination being Ponds Forge, the fun and games saw our team making their way around the real life Sheffield Monopoly board.  Their travels took them to the Wicker, Division Street, Clarkehouse Road (where they even managed to sneak a cheeky beer to keep them going!), Fargate and the Peace Gardens - and all while carrying that huge inflatable banana!

Their pre-game homework paid off when correctly answering questions on the Peak District and Meadowhall, although their knowledge of Clowne was somewhat lacking - would YOU have known when the "e" was added to the name?!

After a frantic few hours racing around the City, and thankfully having avoided going to jail, our team headed to the "finish" at DLA Piper's office for a well-earned drink and buffet supper.

Although Team Proact didn't win first place, they were awarded the prize for Best Prop - deservedly so we think you'll agree.

Well done to all involved in such a great event for 2 very worthy causes.

"The Proact Room" at Sheffield Childrens Hospital

During our 2012 and 2013 charity years, Proact staff raised in excess of the £25,000 required to fund a dedicated, single-patient room at the hospital – over £31,000 was raised by our staff.  Thanks to their hard work and fundraising dedication, children staying at the hospital will benefit from fantastic bespoke new facilities to accompany the wonderful care and treatment they receive.

We visited the site on Tuesday 28th June along with Tchad Western - the wonderful Corporate Fundraiser at The Children’s Hospital Charity - to look at the progress of the room Proact IT UK has funded in the children's hospital. With an opening date of April 2017, we can't wait to see the finished "Proact room" and the wider hospital refurbishment.

London office does Yoga

On 23rd February, at the end of a long day’s work, the London office was transformed into a haven of peace and tranquillity with Proact’s first ever yoga session.

With participants donating cash in order to take part, our very own “yogi”, Becky, helped staff achieve their own level of zen!

The event raised £60 for Centrepoint, the London office’s local charity for 2016.

Chesterfield Office Charity Quiz Night

The Chesterfield office held their second annual charity quiz night on the evening of 10th March, raising a terrific £644 in aid of Proact North’s local charity, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Chesterfield Panthers Rugby Union FC kindly donated their function room free of charge for this event, which saw teams of staff battling it out for glory, while enjoying a few drinks and a tasty pie and pea supper with colleagues.  A great night was had by all, with a fantastic amount raised for Bluebell Wood.

Our thanks are extended to Kate the Quizmaster for all her efforts in developing and delivering a fantastic evening of questions, and to all the other Proact staff who helped to organise the event.

Proact Annual 6-a-side Charity Football Tournament

Monday 9th May saw 10 teams taking part in Proact’s Annual Charity 6-a-side Football Tournament at the Proact Stadium, Chesterfield.

Blessed once again with fabulous weather, the teams battled it out for glory in the knock-out stages throughout the morning.

The semi-finals consisted of Tekkers FC v Varonis and KPMG v Procurri UK.  Tekkers FC won their match 3-1, and KPGM secured their place in the final with a 3-2 penalties victory after a tense 1-1 match.

The supporters were treated to some fabulous football in a high-scoring final, which eventually led to a nail-biting penalty shoot-out, with KPMG emerging the victors.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that the grand total raised on the day was a massive £1,724.55 in aid of Penny Brohn UK.

Our thanks are extended to all our teams and their supporters, and of course to the Proact team who make this event possible with all their hard work and dedication in organising the day and supporting at the event itself.

PBUK Ladies Long Table Lunch

The Proact ladies donned their glad rags on Friday 20th May to take part in the Penny Brohn UK Ladies Long Table Lunch celebration event.

Our ladies helped out at the PBUK national centre in Bristol on the day before the event, volunteering to stuff 250 goody bags ready for the event on Friday – no mean feat!

Under glorious skies, the Proact ladies experienced a fabulous day at the event: listening to the Penny Brohn Community Choir, hearing from inspirational speakers, and taking part in the fabulous live auction at the culmination of the lunch.  The event raised a whopping £50,000 for the charity, and we’re thrilled to have contributed to this fantastic total.
