“The reason for our willingness to change was our ultimate frustration in the old service platform. The previous data centre solution left holes in network diagnostics, and maintaining and provisioning the network infrastructure had its challenges, as well,” describes Project Manager Niko Kauppinen of Optimiratkaisut the situation a year ago.

The customers of Optimiratkaisut represent mainly the industry and energy sectors as well as educational institutions. For all of these customers, it is obvious that a network with uncertain functionality and reliability clouds the day of the entire IT department.
When starting to design the new service platform, the following things were at the top of the wish list: top experts specialised in data networks and server environments and a view to the entire network from start to finish.
At this stage, Proact received a call.
“We are now administrating 2 data centres and 250 virtual servers. In addition, we are responsible for several VDI environments plus several hundreds of physical servers with their application. Furthermore, we are responsible for the firewall and RSA VPN network solutions and data backup services,” says Sales Manager Kimmo Nurmivuori of Proact.
In the network from start to finish
Measuring the success of the cooperation is simple: The Proact network team must be able to configure the network whenever necessary, from start to finish. Without unnecessary middlemen or delays. This has been brought off. According to Nurmivuori, migration of the virtual servers to the Cisco USC technology platform is currently under way.
