Presented with the challenges of an ageing spinning disk storage system, which included escalating maintenance costs and increasing failure rates, the University of Bath instigated a Proof of Concept (PoC) to make sure it found abest-fit storage solution. Wanting to explore the options that were available on the market, and what different platforms had to offer, the university called in Proact to gather together solutions from a range of vendors.
A lesson in collaboration – how Durham University and Proact delivered a more intelligent way to store data.
Faced with an ageing storage infrastructure, Durham University searched for and found a more cost-effective option. When this failed to deliver the required results, Proact worked with the university to develop a storage
